Starting with Version 2.0, the normative MTConnect information model will be an XMI file rather than text documents.

Normative MTConnect XMI : MTConnect Information Model was developed in SysML modeling language using Cameo Enterprise Architect.

MTConnect Model Browser : MTConnect Information Model can be browsed in a report generated from the normative MTConnect XMI.

Release Notes : Version 2.1 changes can be seen in the MTConnect Model Browser.

MTConnect Agent : The C++ MTConnect Agent provides a complete implementation of the HTTP server required by the MTConnect standard.

XML Schema : XML Schemas generated from the normative MTConnect XMI.

PDF Documents : PDF Documents generated from the normative MTConnect XMI.

MTConnect Version 2.0 is a model-based standard. Following are benefits of model-based standard over a text-based standard:

  1. Reduces duplication and error across parts and sections of the standard.

  2. The entire model is machine-readable, allowing direct and automated interpretation by software systems.

  3. Reduces ambiguity and data loss as compared to XML or JSON schema.
