The MTConnect® Institute creates software standards that allow for “universal” capture of data from manufacturing equipment and the porting of this data into common visualization tools permitting a seamless method for managing and analyzing data for process and product optimization. The standards development activity of the Institute facilitates the creation of XML based open software standards addressing this “challenge.” This work is being accomplished through the establishment of Working Groups by the MTConnect Technical Advisory Group to develop recommendations for enhancements to the standard.
